Vancouver Graduations 2010

June 27th, 2010
Hey guys, it’s been a while… again. Well, I have a good excuse this time–I’ve been busy! No, seriously though. Two days ago at the Vancouver Limousine office, I didn’t get a chance to sit down ’cause I was the only one in the office that day and both lines kept ringing off the hook for hours non-stop!

So it’s June, that means wedding and graduation season. Well…mostly grads. This year, Red Bull dropped off, like, a million boxes of Red Bull for all our graduation jobs! Every graduate got this special graduation package. There were two Red Bulls and a graduation certificate in a neat silver cannister. I think it’s a great thing they’re doing… helping them promote Red Bull and helping us. Win-win situation!

Oh by the way, I took some photos of the lovely 2010 graduates! Congrats to you all. Take a look at these pics and feel free to comment =)

Post Olympic Depression

March 7th, 2010

When the 2 weeks the 2010 Olympics were held in Vancouver, it was considered the best freaking time of our lives! I remember I worked every single day at the office of Vancouver Limousine. I dealt with tons and tons of clients over the phone and e-mail, sent tons of confirmation forms and invoices, dealt with drivers, did paperwork, cleaned vehicles, and basically just ran around all over the office… barely sitting. Well after a long day at work, basically a 9-5 job, I would call up my friends and vice versa and we would take the skytrain to Granville and Burrard and we would walk around the streets at night, take tons of photos, view the city, try to get on CTV, take a look at the pavillions, look at all the Olympic destinations (cauldron, the Olympic store, Ozone…), high 5 hundreds of strangers in one night…

Basically, I had the time of my life. Downtown Vancouver was so alive! For once… ’cause usually at nighttime, there aren’t that many people. It was weird seeing so many people and being in a huge crowd… especially that night Team Canada won the gold medal hockey game! After the game it was insane in Downtown. Everybody was screaming and yelling… cheering and chanting… hugging and giving high fives! It was sooo much fun. I really enjoyed it… but a week later, when I returned, it was kind of dead :-(

Anyways, after the 2 weeks, I had to return to college this week and everybody was really depressed! We call it the “Post 2010 Olympic depression” and I totally felt it man. I was sooo unhappy I have to study 24/7 now, it’s tiring, tedious, and NOT fun. I’d rather work all day and party all night, now THAT’S life ;) After this super looooooooooong week at school, I got back to work at the office yesterday and people were starting to call for graduations already! Yup, it’s that time of the year again — GRADUATION SEASON! woooo. So guys, call me and I’ll hook you up with a couple of limousines for your grad night!

Vancouver 2010 Olympics

January 16th, 2010

Hey everyone!

The 2010 Olympics are being hosted here in Vancouver and Whistler this February! Less than one month away–27 days to be exact. Has everyone reserved their transportation to Whistler yet? I know I have :) I booked from a Whistler Shuttle company called Whistler Star Express and now I know I can get up to Whistler to watch the games and maybe ski and snowboard a bit. The most exciting part is that my family and some friends are coming from overseas just to watch the events! Isn’t that great? I love how to Olympics brings the world together. Of course, I also have friends coming from the states and some across the country too. People have been asking me to recommend restaurants in Vancouver. Well I’d have to say that if you love steak, you gotta go to Hy’s Steakhouse, Gotham’s Steakhouse, or Joe Fortes. However, Vancouver is pretty darn multicultural (well, Canada is in general) and we have some of the best Japanese and Chinese restaurants around! If you love Japanese cuisine ranging from sushi to ramen to sukiyaki (hot pot) then I’d recommend Guu, Posh, Kintaro, and Takara Bune. For Chinese food, just go to Richmond and walk into any chinese restaurant and the food is awesome! Places like Sun Sui Wah and Fortune House are my personal favourites for dim sum, fried rice, and stuff like that. If you feel like Mexican food, I recommend Dona Cata on Victoria Drive. Of course, there are also restaurants for bugers, fries, and stuff like Red Robin, Boston Pizza, Cactus Club, Milestones, Moxie’s, and places like that. All the food is delicious!

For shopping, I’d recommend BC’s largest shopping mall–Metropolis at Metrotown. However, if it’s inconvenient for you, there are also malls such as Richmond Centre, Aberdeen Mall, Oakridge Mall, and Pacific Centre. Of course, everyone has to visit the famous Robson Street in Vancouver or eat at a hot dog stand. The best hot dog stand would be Japadog!

Also, who can miss out on a tour of Vancouver when you’re here anyways? My favourite would be booking a limo or an SUV limo from Vancouver Classic Limousine and cruising around the city in style. My friends and I have done this a few times. We went around Stanley Park, stopped at the teahouse, went around Downtown and went to the nightclubs and had dessert at various places. You can even get a tour in the Sun Yat Sen Gardens, around Granville Island, or view the city from a bird’s eye perspective at the Lookout at Harbour Centre and eat lunch or dinner at the revolving restaurant one floor below–Top of Vancouver. There are many more places to see, experience, and taste, but unfortunately, this post would be pages and pages long, so why don’t you give me a call instead and I can be your chauffeur for your Vancouver Limousine Tour!

Man, it’s hot for September!

September 12th, 2009

Man… I’m sweating :(

I was really bored at work in the office today (phones were dead for some odd reason) so I went on the internet (when my boss wasn’t looking) and read some of the limousine blogs by other drivers and office receptionists. I stumbled upon this really interesting blog titled “Recommendations On How to Choose a Vancouver Limousine Company.” Here it is:

Need a limousine rental service in Vancouver for a special occasion but have no idea where to find one? Vancouver limousine companies are relatively easy to find. Selecting the right limousine service can be difficult, considering that there are over 100 companies that offer such services in that Canadian city. You don’t have to break a sweat when looking for the best Vancouver limousine service as long as you keep in mind the tips below.
Do a Thorough Research
If you want to hire a Vancouver limousine the first thing you need to do is find information. Yes, research should be the first step. For faster results, you can do an online search with a search engine. Over the Internet, look for companies that provide Vancouver limo rental services and read the reviews written about them. Try to find companies with positive reviews or feedbacks from customers so that you will know the quality of customer service of each company. In addition, search for limo rental service companies that are affiliated with credible business groups. Then list down all the companies you are considering for your limousine rental.
Visit the Sites of Limousine Rental Companies
After you have gathered the names of the companies that offer limousine services, your next step is to visit their websites to check their reputation and reliability. Some websites are mere spams—you can tell right away whether a company is legitimate or not through its website design. Of course, you cannot judge a company solely by the way it presents itself online, but website design is still a telling sign of a company’s worth. A good limo rental company invests its time and other resources in putting up a good website. A well-designed and interesting website speaks a lot about its company-owner—that it has keen attention to details when it comes to dealing with its customers.
Contact Each Company You’re Considering
Narrow down your list of limo rental companies and start making phone calls. Observe how each operator or customer service representative talks to you. Do the operators talk with you in a friendly manner and have helped you with their adequate knowledge regarding their limo services? The quality of your conversation with a certain customer service representative of a company speaks of the quality of service the company can provide you with.
Next, ask pertinent questions. Ask the operator about the company’s limousines, especially the year, make, and model that it provides. Do they have a Vancouver SUV limousine if that is what you want? Why do you need to ask for this information when it is already posted in the company’s website? Sometimes, limo rental companies rent out models that are older than those specified on their sites.
Also, ask how much the rate is for every hour and the hidden charges. Several limo rental companies offer additional services like red carpet and champagne; the costs for these services are often included in the hidden fees.
Once you have chosen the best Vancouver limousine service, then you can make your reservations ahead of time!

Hmm, sounds pretty deep. Deep as a well, ha-ha :-). Well I’ve since I’ve been driving parttime and working as a receptionist for approximately 8 years in the limousine industry, I have to say that my favourite and THE most reliable company I have ever worked at and heard about would have to be….

Classic Limousine of Vancouver! Now you may say that I am biased, but I’m just giving my honest opinion. I’ve worked for at least 7 different companies and I have to admit that the other managers, chauffeurs, owners, and coworkers that I have dealed with were not, let’s just say, the nicest people I have ever met. Now I know that it can be really stressful dealing with customers on the phone or when the phones go crazy, but seriously, I get yelled at really often (pretty much everytime I go in the office) by managers and owners when I have done nothing wrong (well a few times I have, but the other times I get yelled at I’ve done nothing) because they are just so stressed out! When I almost gave up hope after moving from one company to the other, I went to Classic Limousine for a job as a chauffeur in 2005 (it was my final hope) and they gave me an interview… and a call within 2 days! Ever since that day, I have been working at Classic Limousine… sometimes as a driver, sometimes as a receptionist. If I thought it was a horrible company, I would have quit right when things got tough, but I honestly believe it’s the best limousine company in Vancouver :-) Rock on Classic Limousine!!!

No, the company is not paying me to say these things, but I figured that helping them advertise a bit wouldn’t hurt right? Here is my totally HONEST feedback for the article above:

Do a thorough research: I just typed in “Vancouver Limousine” on the Google homepage and looked for positive reviews on the limousine companies. Wow, look at that, the company I work for as 9 reviews and the other companies have absolutely NONE! Well except “LimoLimo” but they only have one. Okay, now I will look under the office files for the NAMES of these clients and correspond them with the DRIVER’S NAMES. I see that every single entry is in fact honest, real, true… etc. and a bonus, they are ALL positive comments/reviews. Hmm, Classic Limousine is already #1 on my list!

Visit the sites of limousine rental companies: Wow! The Classic Limousine website has a lot of detail. Well look at that, it has photos of their vehicle fleet, services offered, and even other recommended sites for accomodations, etc. This is awesome.

Contact each company you’re considering: Okay, I’ve done this exactly 4 months ago for my friend’s daughter’s wedding in May. I’ve called over 10 different companies looking for the best rate (this is what everyone does) and what vehicles the companies offered. You know what my result was? I got yelled at one time, once by this man who wouldn’t give me a price because I seriously did not have ALL the pick up locations (she’s not even my daughter, why would I know?), and then I almost got scammed by this other guy, he gave me a quote, then started adding all these extra charges for moving his vehicle out of the garage. Hmmm, not very reliable. For three other companies I called, the receptionists sounded dimwitted, I had to repeat myself a fair few times which was very aggravating. Now when I pick up the phone, I have been trained to ask exactly what the client needs, where they wanna go, which day they want it for and I give them the exact price that includes the tax and tip. 10/10 for Classic Limousine again!

Also, ask how much the rate is for every hour and the hidden charges: Yeah, guess what everyone? Classic Limousine DOES NOT charge extra for red carpet, wedding JUST MARRIED hearts, champagne glasses, and ice. They are all completely FREE.

So overall, Classic Limousine is THE limousine company of Vancouver. Need I say more?
